Grand opening of New FootBridge
Children from Ravensthorpe were at the grand opening of the new footbridge
Last week, children from Ravensthorpe were at the grand opening of the A47 footbridge. Last summer children from Raventhorpe took part in a competition to create designs for the hoarding boards whilst the work was being completed and were invited back for the grand opening.
The footbridge now connects Netherton and South Bretton which is safe and easy for cyclists, walkers and wheelchair users.
Ravensthorpe competition winners and student council were joined by representatives from Peterborough City Council, Highways England and Grahams to open the footbridge.
Ravensthorpe Headteacher Ms Bowyer said "It is wonderful to be invited back to the grand opening, especially for the children who took part in the competition and being able to view the footbridge themselves".
