Staff and children enjoyed their Christmas lunch cooked by the amazing team in the kitchens who have prepared Christmas meals for the last three days! There were also plenty of Christmas jumpers and crackers around and everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy the day. We were joined by special guests including some of our governors, a member from the local Police force and two members from the Salvation Army. After lunch the school council proudly presented the Salvation Army staff with food parcels they had collected to be distributed to those in need.
The children gave a fantastic performance today watched by many parents, friends and carers. The children clearly enjoyed it as much as we all did!
Children performed a variety of Christmas songs to a large audience today.
The children and audience were treated to a range of Christmas songs enthusiastically performed by the children. They did a fantastic job remembering all those words and actions.
The Christmas Fayre was well attended and enjoyed by all who came.
We have now officially opened Mrs Bentley's Garden in memory of our much cherished former Chair of Governors, Mrs Glennis Bentley MBE. We were very pleased that Mrs Bentley's son was able to cut the ribbon.
Once again an amazing selection of cakes were made for this occasion.
The week before May half term, the whole school enjoyed learning about different ways to be healthy and keep healthy. We were joined by different guests throughout the week who inspired us all. The week culminated in our annual Sports Day.
Sainsbury's at Bretton presented Y4 children with Sport Relief merchandise as a thank you for their brilliant fundraising this year.
Today we had Superheroes from Sainsbury's at Bretton in to play some games with us. We raised a fantastic £242.50 for Sport Relief. The children & staff really enjoyed the event. Thank you to all involved with the fundraising.
A group of House Captains and School Councillors enjoyed a great day in London. They met Stewart Jackson MP and had an exclusive tour of the Houses of Parliament to see democracy in action.
Today members of the choir visited Sainsbury's in Bretton to sing Christmas songs and raise money for The Peterborough Association for the Blind. The children sang for an hour and in that time raised an amazing £211.78!! Well done and huge thanks to all involved.
Children & adults dressed up and raised valuable funds for Children in need today.
We welcomed teachers from Shanghai to our school as part of a cultural exchange visit. They toured the school and were very interested in the displays and how our children work. Year one were reading The Tiger who came to tea and miming actions to go with the story followed by making sandwiches for this afternoon!

In School this week we have had a local artist visiting. Natasha Mistry is an art teacher and created wonderful canvases for the children to decorate. This art work is called Mandala and each class will have their own canvas. Watch this space for the finished canvases which I'm sure will be fantastic!
The children shared wonderful work and songs in the Assembly today. Many parents and carers attended and enjoyed refreshments afterwards. Thanks to all who visited today and the children for their hard work.
Today we invited Matt Nichols from Sainsbury's in Bretton to our assembly to help open the box of goods we received from saving the Sainsbury's Active Kids vouchers this year. The children were all very excited and look forward to using the new equipment.

The year 6 children enjoyed their final trip at Ravensthorpe by attending the residential at Kingswood.
We raised a very over £150 at our Summer Fayre! Well done for all of the parents and children who took part!
Staff from Sainsbury's in Bretton attended an assembly today to give the children samples of fruits and vegetables. There is also a quiz sheet and the class with the most correct answers will win a basket of fruit to share.

Natalie Deighon and Dan Budgell from Sainsbury's in Bretton came into school today to read stories to the foundation class. They even left the books for us to enjoy with our class teachers. Thank you.

In October 2014, Ravensthorpe School choir joined other schools at the Broadway Theatre in Peterborough to perform a range of rock and roll numbers with professional musicians.
In May, our football team played Highlees School in a brilliant match.
